Creating a sense of place out of nothing but dirt.
This branding project began with concepting a launch campaign for the initial phase of Scottsdale Quarter. With no imagery to use, and only architectural drawings to go by, our team wanted to capture a sense that this wasn’t going to be just another outdoor mall. Rather it would offer an urban-like experience, a district all its own, worthy of hanging out and exploring.
We knew illustration was the way to go, but we wanted it to capture a sense of mystique, allure and timelessness. Something that only Michael Schwab could pull off. Which is why we hired him to illustrate our concepts. Supporting lines to the hero graphics convey the idea that whatever is interesting is happening at The Quarter.
